📄 Alias Resume

Privacy Policy

Effective August 5, 2026

The short version
  • We do not collect any data from this app.
  • There are no accounts and no sign-up.
  • No analytics SDKs, no advertising, no trackers.
  • We do not sell or share your data, because we never receive it.
  • Your vault lives on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, syncs through your own private iCloud — never through us.
  • The app does sell optional in-app purchases (Alias Pro). Apple processes the payment, not us.

This policy explains how Alias Resume (“the app”) handles information. The app is published by Now Studio LLC (“we”, “us”). It is short because the app does very little with your information, and none of it comes to us.

What we collect

Nothing. Our App Store privacy declaration for this app reads: Data Not Collected — The developer does not collect any data from this app. That is the whole of it, and this policy does not add exceptions to it.

Specifically, there are no user accounts and no sign-in. There are no analytics or attribution SDKs. There is no advertising and no ad identifier. There are no third-party trackers. We do not build profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not share data with data brokers — none of which we could do, since your content never reaches us.

Your career vault

Let us be direct about this, because it matters more here than in most apps. Alias Resume holds genuinely sensitive material: your employment history, dates and titles, education, salary-adjacent details if you record them, and the contact information you type into a resume — your name, your email address, your phone number, where you live. A career vault is a personal document.

None of it comes to us. Blocks, Aliases, cover letters, tracked applications, reminders, parsed postings, and keyword analyses are stored by the app on your device. We never receive that content, we cannot read it, and we hold no copy of it on any server we operate. There is no backend account waiting for your resume.

iCloud sync

Your vault does leave your device in one specific way, and you should know exactly how. When your device is signed in to an Apple Account with iCloud available, Alias Resume stores the vault in that account's private iCloud database so it syncs across your own iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Everything listed above travels that way, including the contact details and employment history inside a resume.

That copy lives in Apple's infrastructure, inside your Apple Account's private container, and its handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. It is your iCloud, not ours: we cannot see, retrieve, or restore what is in it, and we are not notified that it exists.

This is not a switch inside the app. If your device is not signed in to iCloud, the app automatically falls back to a device-only store and works fully offline — nothing syncs anywhere. You can see which mode you are in under Settings in the app, where iCloud Sync reads On or Off, and you control it through your device's Apple Account settings.

Job posting parser and keyword coverage

The job posting parser and keyword coverage analysis work on content you supply — the posting text you paste in and the Blocks you have written. That processing serves your use of the app and produces a result for you to read. Neither one sends the posting text, your Blocks, or your resumes to us: we receive no copy of them and no report about them.

The AI Prompt Library

Alias Pro includes an AI Prompt Library: a collection of prompt templates you can copy and use with an AI assistant of your own choosing. The library is text you copy.

Please note the boundary here. If you choose to paste your resume content into a third-party AI service, that service's own terms and privacy policy govern what happens to it — including whether it is retained or used for training. We are not involved in and not responsible for that exchange, and it happens under whatever account and settings you have with that provider. If your resume contains details you would rather not hand to an outside service, edit them out before you paste, or use the prompts on a redacted version.

Export and sharing

When you export a resume as PDF, plain text, or Word (.docx), the file is created on your device and handed to whatever you choose next — Files, Mail, Messages, another app. From that point the file travels wherever you send it, under the terms of the service you send it through. Exporting does not send anything to us.

Purchases

The app offers in-app purchases and subscriptions: Alias Pro Monthly, Alias Pro Annual, and Alias Pro Lifetime. These are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

Apple — not us — processes the payment and handles the whole transaction. We never receive your card number, your billing address, or your payment details, and we have no way to see them. What the app receives from Apple is a signal about whether your Apple Account holds an active entitlement to Pro, which is what unlocks the paid features. Restoring purchases asks Apple the same question again. Apple's handling of purchase information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Alias Resume is a tool for job seekers and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data at all, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is nothing for a child to submit to us. If you believe a child has somehow provided information to us, contact us and we will look into it — though in practice there is no channel through which that could happen.

Data deletion

We hold no data about you, so there is nothing on our side to delete or to request. To remove the data itself:

Once it is removed from your device and your iCloud, it is gone. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a future version of the app ever begins collecting data — which is not the plan — we will say so plainly here and in the App Store privacy declaration before it happens.
