Frequently asked

What is Lumo?

Lumo is a focus app for studying and deep work. Set your one thing for the day, start a focus session, and the friends in your circle can see you’re heads-down — and know when you’re free again. It turns grinding alone into something you do together.

How do I get into Lumo?

Lumo is invite-only. You get in with a code from a friend who’s already inside, or by joining the waitlist and being let in as the club grows. Every member gets a few invite codes to share. Your identity is simply your iCloud account — there’s no separate username or password.

How does seeing my peers work?

When you start a focus session, your status updates for the people in your circle (Find-My-style — no map, no location). You can turn presence sharing off any time in the app, and you choose who’s in your circle. Peers sync through your iCloud account.

Why don’t I see any peers?

Presence and kudos sync through iCloud. Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud on your device (Settings → your name → iCloud) and that iCloud Drive is on. Your circle fills in as friends add each other.

How do I block distracting apps during a session?

Lumo can shield the apps and websites that pull you off track using Apple’s Screen Time. The first time, iOS asks your permission to manage Screen Time. The apps you pick are handled privately on your device — we never see them.

What do I get with Lumo Pro?

Lumo is free — the timer, your one thing, the rings, journal, and inviting friends are always free. Lumo Pro is an optional one-time purchase that lifts the free limit on your circle: invite more than four people, create multiple study groups, and get a supporter badge on your profile.

I bought Pro but it’s not showing up.

Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchase, and make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it with. If it still doesn’t appear, email us.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings → Privacy → “Delete my Lumo data” in the app to remove everything you’ve shared to Lumo’s iCloud database (presence, membership, invite codes, and any waitlist entry) in one tap. Deleting the app clears your on-device data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Which devices are supported?

Lumo runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and syncs across them through iCloud.
